If a router fails, or you want to replace an existing Bigleaf router with a new one, follow these steps. The replacement router you receive from Bigleaf is pre-configured and ready to install. The router replacement can take up to an hour, with approximately 10 minutes of site downtime.
Step 1: Prep
Carefully label all cables connected to the old router before you disconnect it.
Step 2: Install and activate the new router
- Power down the old router and place the new router next to the old one. The site will go offline.
- Unplug the cables from the old router and connect them to the new router, ensuring all cables are connected to the correct port on the new router.
- If the old router was not working, the new router will come online automatically.
- If the old router was still working, activate the new router. - Log in to Bigleaf Cloud Connect (https://app.bigleaf.net) with a Super Admin or Company Admin account and select the site whose router you're activating.
- On the Sites Overview page, select Site configuration.
- Select Edit.
If the Edit button is not available, you don't have correct credentials. Call Bigleaf Support at (888) 244-3133 for assistance with the remaining steps. - Scroll down to find the Primary CPE Routers field and move the Activate slider to green on the new router.
- Select Save.
Step 3: Verify the replacement router
